History of the Drop Zone Cafe & Bar 

The Drop Zone Café & Bar is the life-long “dream/desire” of Command Sergeant Major, US Army, Retired, Eduardo “Ed” Fernandez. He always spoke of it to his wife, Esperanza “Hope” Elizondo-Fernandez. So, one day back in 1991, Hope’s sister, Peggy and her husband, Raymond Perez, suggested to Ed and Hope to purchase “those old dilapidated two buildings at the corner of Carson and Walter streets.” Hope’s brother, Joe Arispe, seconded the suggestion which was agreed by her other sister, Gladys.
